Banking salaries bumped in the US, what about Europe / APAC?

Hi guys,

as most of you know, base salaries for analysts in the US have been increased to $85k. However, banks in the UK still pay GBP45k base. So I was just wondering, does any Euro or APAC banker know if salaries will be increased over here as well or is this only for the US? And if not, how do banks justify that they only increase base in the US? I mean, London is definitely as expensive as NYC and grads over here are increasingly looking to go into Consulting and Tech as well..

Thanks a lot.

Yeah, really good! Double what I got too.

Cost of living certainly more in London than in NYC from my experience. Spent some time with friends who were living in amazing apartments just off time square, with great views and pretty big, paying 85% of what I pay for where I am a 20 minute walk from my office near Mayfair which is a fraction of the size. Other costs seems substantially cheaper too.
