best laptops for virtual internship

What laptops would you recommend summer analysts purchase for their summer internships? I currently use a MacBook pro for school, but because of its lack of excel compatibility, I am looking to purchase one for my internship. I am looking for a good quality laptop that is fairly affordable.

I got the 9th gen intel gaming laptop. It’s like $500 cheaper than a Mac with the same specs.

They have a 3 year warranty which covers any and I mean ANY accidents or loss of the laptop where they’ll fly someone out to repair it replace it within 2 business for like $400.

would a macbook + parallels suffice?? really don't want to drop a few hundred bucks on a mediocre pc i will only be using for 5 weeks..

I’d go bootcamp. you can get a windows key for like $20. get two monitors, windows keyboard, mouse, and you have a workstation for under 250. very worthwhile investment for long term

my bank asked interns to indicate what laptops we have at home without any mention of sending us company issued laptops,. so i am not positive we are gonna get anything from banks

Are banks not planning on using on Parallels/Citrix for the SAs? I'd highly doubt we can directly download stuff to our regular machines given we might be handling sensitive data so a Virtual Desktop would be the easiest solution? And the virtual desktop would surely be running a Windows OS interface.

I say this as a mac owner since that is what I assume will happen. If not probably will run Windows via bootcamp (my uni offers a free copy of windows) since I do not want to blow a few hundred bucks on a new laptop.
