Best Sport in the World Is...

Let me get your guys' opinion on this. What is your favourite sport and why?

For me, it is definitely got to be football (soccer for you American folk). Why? Because it's a sport that is just so packed with action to watch & to play. It brings people from all over the world together (World cup for example) and it ends up bringing nations together and bringing our inner patriot out. Playing football till the level of semi-pro I gotta say the level of complexity in formation and tactics makes the game even more interesting.

PS: How do people watch golf on TV for fun? Like seriously wtf...

Favourite sports have to be football, rowing, basketball and cricket

Football, basketball and cricket - same reasons you mentioned for football and because they’re fun. Actually like football and cricket because I was forced to play and were the only games I knew how to play for a long time before trying out basketball

Rowing - even though race lasts anywhere between 6 minutes and 15-20 minutes, shorter than pretty much a lot of sports, it’s so mentally and physically challenging. Before every race you need to plan how you’re going to approach it, and all the guys in the boat need to stay in sync in order to do well

I’ve been rowing for 2 years. Rowing is actually 70% legs, 20% core and 10a-% arms or something like that, but definitely most of the power comes from the legs. So a lot of elite rowers would have ripped legs along with lean bodies. My college team practices 5x a week on the water with sometimes 2x a day practice

Sounds more like you want to tell us that you watched the World Cup and now you want to be a soccer fan. None of the European or Hispanic/South American people I know talk about any of the shit you just said. It's just what they grew up playing, what their friends are into, and they watch it as part of keeping up with their own cultural going-ons the way plenty of Americans are into football simply because everyone else is. Who the fuck talks about "bringing nations together" and "bringing our inner patriot out"? Unless you're talking about Tom Brady, that sentence makes you retarded. Anyway, my favorite sport is fucking.

in it 2 win it

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

Watching: Basketball Doing: rather nothing. However, the other day I read about this 'new' sport called napersice. Participants of this sports class will find single beds, “atmospheric” sounds and a temperature which promotes calorie burning during sleep. The class will take place in the mid-afternoon. A sleep expert said the class actually can lead to positive fitness effects too. “Sleep is a lot more important than people realise,” she said. “We tend to focus on the short-term effects such as being tired or lacking concentration but it is also essential for our long-term physical and mental wellbeing too. And apparently, participants can expect to "burn the odd calorie" as the body continues to burn them during sleep. :D

Mine is easily football, with baseball coming in at second.

Football is great because in the US, it brings so many families and friends together. Nothing beats getting together with people you care about and chomping down food and slugging brews while watching a game. Going to a game is a whole different story - and a fantastic experience. Football is something for people to look forward to all week. The seasons are small and the games are intense, so its easy for football teams to command massive insane fanbases and get support from their region often unrivaled by any other sport. It is something that everyone is involved in, and I love. It's the sport a lot of us grew up watching, watching our parents watching, and playing. Also super bowls are basically a religious holiday.

Dayman?

Depends - team-based for me it is still Soccer cause of all the potential for surprising results and i just love myself a penalty-baed outcome.

Single player....Tennis, one of the few competitions where you can really see everyone go till their breaking point even even further, starts relaxed but becomes so full of suspense and frustration at the end.
