If it's with the Princeton office, yes that's where their primary distribution team is (sales). As an analyst you join as a sales support analyst. Base was 60k/65k in 2017 depending on if you're paid hourly (still with all the benefits) or salaried, respectively. After 2-3 years, though some have been in that role for up to 4/5 years. You're supporting "investment management associates", which is what you graduate to after sales support analyst. You're also supporting the BLK "market leaders" who are in essence the people who go out and pitch the firm's products (passive/active) to FAs. The Princeton office also has a decent portion of their portfolio management teams there, and BLK PEP, private equity arm. Parts of the global allocation team, and munis (top of the street) teams are there as well, so it provides for good networking

thank you so much for this. do you have advice on how to prepare for the interviews? what should i research in order to prepare?

not sure if they still have it, but they had a "sell me anything" that they gave you a couple days to put together. I did it on a financial instrument (and I suggest you do the same). Other than that it was primarily fit questions, and questions on if you're up to date on the general market environment. And yes the PEP team is in Princeton, NY, and also has a team in London. I know people who have gone from the IMA role to strategy, portfolio mgmt, PEP, and top bus schools after the sales support stint. I got reached out to them without applying to that exact position and I think it was on a saturday too lol. You can pm me for culture and stuff. But let's just say it was better pre-2018

i don't think they're gonna ask me that "sell me this" as they only notified me on friday that i was offered a first round interview that was on tuesday.
