Bonus target in offer letter?
How common is it for people in PE/GE to receive a range (officially or unofficially) on expected bonus before signing the offer letter?

I would say it’s more common than not to have it in your offer letter but I’ve seen it both ways plenty of times.
For my offer the range was discussed verbally but not stated in the contract. It's also fully discretionary.
And was this something that you brought up or do you think it's best to let them?
Had a wider conversation about comp and this was one of the topics briefly touched on. Can't remember who brought it up. Not a strange question to ask. Don't hammer on it and just keep it casual but completely normal that you want to know what you're signing for.
My offer letter stated the target annual bonus. I have yet to receive one, so I'm curious to see if the final bonus number is the target or above/below. Hopefully the target bonus is just the floor.
I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Usually if they disclose a target to you during the offer stage, you’ll receive that exact bonus. No reason to pay you more if you accepted the offer knowing that was the targeted amount
You should ask and ask what the range it, what to expect, how much have associates made in prior years etc. how can you agree to a job without knowing comp in depth?
Do you know if Analysts out of undergrad also get a bonus target for IB/PE roles?
It should be in the offer letter and it should be the amount you're expected to get unless you perform way under expectations.
I had a range in my associate offer. I hit the max which was a nice signaling move.
Was not disclosed in my offer letter, but verbal target was given. Am at a MF if that’s relevant
how much if you don't mind me asking?
