I worked there for years. While I enjoyed it, I would not suggest going to work for the IB. Additionally, Howard is not the easiest person to work for. Although I doubt you will be reporting to him, your boss most likely will and he is notoriously controlling.

On the other hand, it may be a good place to start as long as you keep looking for another job and plan to leave there within a year. Lastly, you may already know this, you will be paid horribly.

Cantor Fitzgerald - Topic about this company (Originally Posted: 03/28/2008)

There is already a topic about this company dated way back last year but there was like two post . I would like to find how good of an ibank they really are. I came across them watching the apprentice finale yesterday. Howard Lutkin the CEO just absolutely ripped the auction that was taken place. He bid 100 000 each for two items whereas the bid before him was nowhere near 100 grand. He was totally trying to show off to Donald Trump. Anyways what are people's thoughts on this company.

Thanks

Cantor Fitzgerald - What sort of analyst/associate salary? (Originally Posted: 03/07/2007)

Hi All,

How is Cantor Fitzgerald perceived on Wall Street?
What type of work do they specialise in since theyre a boutique (i think)?
And what sort of analyst/associate salary figures do they pay out?

Thanks.

went to a Jets game with a family friend who did well on the street early on, turned to the non-profit world, and is now re-entering the finance sector at Cantor Fitzgerald.

The guy was like ashamed...went on and on about how they are a crappy firm, but he had been out of the game a while and was just trying to get back in. I've never heard someone so begrudgingly accept a job...

I know they were also decimated by 9/11 as they were one of the firms hit the hardest in the towers. Based on this guys words, I'm not sure where they were before the tragedy, but it seems like they haven't made up any ground lost.

Also, not sure what you want, but I'm pretty sure they have no corporate finance, just s & t.

they're a very strong broker in certain products. and weaker in others. same is true for ICAP, GFI, Tullet all the players.

I have no idea about what their salaries are like...top brokers at any of these shops can make a lot of money. banks pay a lot of bro.
