Capital One Analyst Online Assessment

Hello,

I just took the Capital One online assessment tests and the numeric test was hard not hard in the sense of the math but the allotted time, so I wasn't done! I know they said you can still pass even if ure not done, but do you guys know how they rate these tests? What's a pass/fail score? Do they use a curve? Have you done one of these tests? Please share ur experience. Thanks

Capital One Online Assessment Test

Here are some brief descriptions of the Capital One Assessment process. It includes a behavioral, numerical, and verbal portion.

If I remember correctly, there is a behavioral section like you described, a verbal section (like the SAT verbal section), and a math portion (interpreting graphs and charts, word problems, no calculus or anything a high school student couldn't do). It's pretty easy, so I wouldn't worry about it.

its not hard but its like 30 questions in 20 minutes or something (this being the math portion only) I think the guy I know that works there said about ~35% of people pass the quant portion and he is very knowledgeable on the subject.

Just prepare, nothing else you can do.

Here's is an additional resource for the numerical reasoning portion of the test.

I took an online assessment once that you could not finish. I was worried because there were still a lot of questions left but it turns out they gave you several hundred questions and 15 minutes to take it. They scored it pass fail, and used it as a screen rather than a way to compare candidates going forward. Of course this wasn't with Capital One, so I don't know how they work.

I took it and finished in the allotted time. The questions were very poorly written and ambiguous so I emailed the recruiter and told her a specific question which could have had two answers.

She responded that the assessment is just a screen (as grand-dad said), and I had passed.

In general with Capital One, they give almost everyone who gets an on-campus interview a second round at their offices. then they weed out.

I'd say if you're half decent at standardized tests math, you'll be fine.

Well I guess I am not half decent at standardized tests because I failed! Though I thought my math was pretty good. When I had about a minute left on the timer, I picked random answers to the rest of the questions because I didn't wanna leave them blank, maybe that had something to do with the fact I failed? I have no idea, but Im really disappointed as I was really interested in this position and I can't believe I failed a math test!!!!!!! The recruiter told me that for analyst roles, the pass level is very high, still doesn't justify the fact that I failed at such easy math!

If it doesn't make dollars, it doesn't make sense..... Dear Internet Users, Someday u will regret not reading me. Sincerely, Terms & Conditions....

how long did it take for them to tell you that you failed? I am currently going through the same thing.

Sorry, there is a timer so you have to pace yourself accordingly. You do have enough time, so you shouldn't have to rush, but don't waste too much time on any one particular question. I went through the recruiting process for Capital One like 1.5-2 years ago though, so things may have changed or my memory may be off. I did get a chance to visit their offices though, and it seems like a pretty cool place to work. Not too many hours, pretty laid back (most laid back interview day I had; didn't even have to wear a suit!), and their office complex was quite impressive (gym, indoor basketball and raquetball, I think tennis courts and a soccer field, plus like 4 different cafeterias). The work itself seemed quite boring though and not something I really wanted to do, so I ended up not taking their offer. Best of luck!

Question: Has anyone ever ran out of time on the Capital One math portion of the test & still hired????? Also how do you find out if you failed? I believe I did great on the other portion. However, I underestimated the math portion and ran out of time. This is driving me crazy! Should I just email the recruiter??
