Probably in that order, although I haven't read any of them. And also your standard investopedia, wiki, and googling "prime broker pdf" and such.
Thank you very much for your help, but the interview is in a few days. I have been scouring the web soaking up as much info as possible. I was curious about some first hand experience and possibly the potential salary.
Thank you.
Salary I would imagine would start around 80k, + a pro-rated first year bonus (shit), for your first year given that you are in NY, which is where I believe all my Citi PB MO contacts are.
ebookee.com ;)
Salary try glassdoor.com and scale up maybe 10%
ok so PB middle office at Citi, i deal with quite a bit of folks from there.
In general PB supports trading that is done for institutional investors, (large am funds, pensions, etc). In equities MO your job will involve trade allocation, authorizing trade corrections based on what your desk did that BO people ask you about. Supporting day to day trading on behalf of PB clients is what your role will entail for the first year while you figure out how the PB business really works. Then I'm sure youll be able to jump on some projects, industry initiatives, be a team lead, or whatever interests you.

I would definately brush up on your equities; should prolly know how they are traded, how shorts are executed, know the more common types of corporate actions etc. Know how the PB business works, what kind of clients use PB, how PB makes money. I think as a former CPA with no experience in any type of trading I would concentrate more on whats going on in the markets right now, and getting comfortable with fit questions more than anything. (WSO fit guide is great btw).
Also quick disclamer, I do not work for PB, my group is a client of the BB PBs so we deal with them on a daily basis.
Again, thank you so much. I will be spending the rest of tonight and tomorrow going over the topics you brought up. If I have some questions, do you mind if I ask you again?
Have a great weekend and thanks for your help.
questions are fine. Just post to this thread so others can view. No PMs plz.
