City National Bank
Does anyone have any insight into working at a place like City National Bank?
It seems like they are really building out their team and opening up some new offices. I hear they're doing quite a bit of construction loans and i've seen several people from Wells Fargo move over there.
I'd appreciate any insight into the roles (RM/Credit Officer/Analyst) and generally what the culture is like. Not sure if anyone has any insight into their pay, either, but i'd be curious to hear how they compare to other banks.
Hey hard assets, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot...do any of these help:
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.

They were bought by RBC about 5 years ago I believe and since then have been expanding quite a bit, especially in LA and other parts of Southern CA.
You're correct in that they do a good amount of construction and deals in the small to mid market space. Not sure what they do beyond that but I would say they're a B credit type shop... They're going to be a rung or two under the WF, JPM, BofA etc. I know they do a good amount of business banking but am not sure if they've expanded other lines of services as I haven't competed against them in 2-3 years
