Dating girl in same bank & floor, diff team/division

Have been really hitting it off with a hot first year analyst during social and drinking environments. I work in a large trading floor type environment, she's on the other side of the same floor but sells a different product/has different clients. She might actually be a middle office/valuations chick, idk, but she's hot and want to hook up with her. Is this allowed/condemned? My buddies have been joking about who's going to be the first to sleep with her.

I can already see the headline on CNN: "Internet forum user 'GridironCEO' fired from investment bank amidst sexual harassment allegations from coworker. #MeToo." It's not a safe time for a man to be shitting where he eats. Proceed at your own risk, my brother.

I think you will be fine as long as you show her a good time and are confident in your performance, you should be all set. On the other hand, you may be in danger of assuming potential sexual harassment claims in the event that she arbitrarily was dissatisfied for whatever reason.

Caveat Emptor here. I don't think you'll run into any real issues, but tread cautiously.

There's a closer meaning to my user name. Try reading it quickly. Perhaps you will then understand ;P

I believe the official rule is that two people, one who is a direct report to the other, so like bosses and people who report to them, are strictly not allowed. Anyone have past experiences with this?

As a VP in PE in Toronto, I can tell you it is a bad idea. I have seen colleagues do that back when I was an analyst, and it never ended well. Unless you plan on getting into a serious relationship with her, I would not do that because it would create a lot of tensions and awkwardness between the two of you.

To be honest, I do not care if my juniors had sex or hooked up with each other. But I still want them to be able to work together and act professionally around me. It’s just a big risk, when you know there are many other girls outside of your work. My 2 cents!

Agree. It can come back after you. If I were you I would ask her to hang out in a group and meet her squad / roommate / sister / cousin - safer territory, probably same "busy".

I once heard my boss saying that he likes to grab them by the pussy. Media created a scandal out of it but 63MM people didn’t give a single fuck. So I’d say you are in the clear.

10 years ago I would have said you may spelunk at your hearts content but in today's world it's best if your dating pool is about 2-3 social circles removed from your work environment.

The answer is no, OP, but it doesn’t matter, because the sort of guy who needs to ask internet strangers whether it’s a good idea to bang the “hot chick” on his floor is probably a closet case who’s never had sober, consensual sex with another woman, anyway. Enjoy your fantasies, though, and be sure to get into detail with your friends about all the totally hot, sexy, sexual things you’d totally do to her. Bonus points if you can get one of your bros to agree to meet after work for Eiffel Tower practice.

And the rest of you, saying “pussy is pussy” and stupid shit like that, need to get off reddit and start actually interacting with women in the real world (to the extent they don’t simply just laugh at you when you approach them now). That’s the sort of shit twelve year olds say when they’re trying to look cool in front of their friends. Are you all twelve?

There is nothing more pathetic than nerds on a finance forum role playing “alpha male.” Grow up.
