Deciding which offer to take

HI, I am deciding between two different offers for summer internship. One is from a not very well known global investment management firm with $300billion assets under management as an investment analyst in fixed income (which manages about $280 billion). The other one is in well known firm with $1 trillion in AUM as an investment analyst in Real Estate (which manages about $70billion).

My future goal is to maybe manage a portfolio consisting of multiple asset classes so I wanna learn more about each asset class. My favorite asset class would probably be equity but I'm really passionate about learning about RE and Fixed Income as well. I'm not sure where I would learn more or which one would be more relevant considering what I want to do. I also want to learn as much as I can and be at a place where I would be challenged more. I wouldn't want to be at a place where the work I do is the same every day.

Money wise they are offering the same pay except RE firm is giving a $2500 sign up bonus. However, what matters to me more is the experience I would gain.

Considering all that, what offer do you guys think makes more sense for me? Which one would you take?

Go with Fixed Income option. Fixed income professionals are very macro oriented and that helps your career prospects if you want to manage a multiasset portfolio down the line. Additionally, if you ever change your mind about asset class, its easier to transition into equity from fixed income rather than vice versa
