Define your race

Just thought I'd get a poll going to see the diversity that makes up our community -

What's your race? Pick from the following:

Caucasian/White, Black, Latino/Hispanic, East Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern, Other, Mixed.

I'll start - Mixed

**Mods, I don't mean to make this thread to offend anybody.. just monkeying around :)

Should someone from South East Asia be considered as an South Asian or East Asian? I don't think I belong to both.

Let's just say I am Native Indonesian. Or in Indonesian, a 'Pribumi' (literally 'Sons of the land').

Fortes fortuna adiuvat.

Anyone else find it weird that we're all supposedly equal and shit, but employers and schools ask what race you are and have race quotas? Isn't that contradictory?

Also, it's bullshit that people who are visibly minorities get a bunch of perks, but just because my skin is white, I get nothing even though Ukrainians make up 0.3% of the U.S. People, especially Americans, are so fucking obsessed with race and at the same time, want to pretend that it doesn't exist. It's fucking absurd.

If I ever apply to grad schools, I'm telling them I'm a half-black Jew and they can get fucked trying to prove otherwise.
