Do Banks/the Buy Side Care About Cumulative vs. Major GPA?

The headline pretty much says it all. My cumulative GPA at my university is much higher than my major GPA. I was wondering if investment banks/the buy side will ask for my Major GPA, in addition to my cumulative undergraduate GPA? Thanks for the help!

Hi Prospect in IB-M&A, no, I never sleep and so I can respond to any lonely threads (like this one) at all hours of the night. Impressive, I know ;-)

More suggestions...

Put your cumulative GPA and skip the major GPA. Since your major GPA is significantly lower and is likely relevant to finance, then I’d be ready with a very solid answer to address that.

I know you didn’t mention this, but please don’t put any goofy GPA shit like “adjusted harmonic mean post-freshman year GPA” because I’m immediately going to ask what the deal is if I’m the interviewer or I’m likely tossing your resume if I’m flipping through them
