Incoming Sophomore- What is the Recruiting Timeline Like?
I'll be a sophomore at BC this fall. I know the investment banking recruitment timeline has moved up, and they started recruiting for junior summer internships during the spring of sophomore year with offers being given out by the end of sophomore year. I'm wondering if the consulting recruitment process is similar to that or if it is not as accelerated? Also, if anybody knows the general view of BC in consulting. I know MBBs don't recruit here, but there is a decent Big 4 presence for consulting roles.
Quite frankly, I'm not too knowledgeable about the consulting industry, but its something I want to look more into and see if its something I'd be interested in doing.
BC is viewed favorably by consulting firms, especially if you're in the school of management
You are right that MBB does not recruit there. However, other great consulting shops do, with recruiting presence particularly strong for LEK and Deloitte S&O, so maybe target these firms

Is the process in consulting similar in which you try to get a junior internship and get a return offer? Also, is the junior summer internship process in during junior fall or earlier/after that?
Consulting is a bit different than banking in this regard. In banking, basically everybody who ends up in a full time role was an intern. In consulting, the internship process is much more competitive than the full time one (about 3 times as hard for MBB from what I've heard) so you'll find many people who did not intern in consulting end up in it post-grad. There is a much less defined path into consulting since firms run on such a generalist model for college hires. A junior year internship at a solid large company should be plenty of name recognition for even the top firms, assuming the rest of your application is strong.
Generally, firms will start to recruit for their full time staff right when school starts in September. The internship process occurs after this, more like mid-October I believe. It varies from firm to firm but that is what I have seen and the general consensus that I've heard.
Go Eagles ;)
I saw McKinsey's application for summer 2019 releases july 1, will interviews start in the summer? or back on campus in the fall?

What's the timeframe of Sophomore Summer Analyst recruiting? What programs would be best to apply to? Target school, low gpa -- what are the chances (have another semester to boost)? In previous years, when were applications due? Where are the best places to apply?
Recruiting is school specific. Most likely interviews will be on campus but you should ask your school's career center or alumni.

Earlier Recruiting Schedule-What to do as Rising Sophomore? (Originally Posted: 04/23/2018)
I am finishing up my freshman year at a non-target and was wondering what I should be doing during the summer aside from my internship to better prepare myself for recruiting for junior summer. Since recruiting for SA positions is now ridiculously early, I am unsure on what I should be doing during the summer. I've been networking with a decent amount of people, and I will definitely meet up with them in the summer for coffee. However, should I already be focused on getting an internship for sophomore summer? Any books I should read or interview prep materials that I should check out? I'm just a little nervous about the earlier deadlines, just because it seems like there is not enough time to be able to talk/network with people, to prep for technical questions, and to gain relevant experience.
