Emmanuel Macron
I've been following Macron since last November and I gotta say--I'm impressed. Anyone else watching the French elections?
Here's a quick profile from FT: https://www.ft.com/content/a36b107a-dca6-11e6-86ac-f253db7791c6
Tl;dr -- he's an ideological cross between social democracy and economic liberalism--essentially, "doubly liberal."
I wish US produced people like Macron...
Visit the Eiffel tower on a sunny day and you will understand why Le Pen must win.
Le Pen would be a disaster for the EU, NATO and France's economy.
I can sympathize with why people would support her, but this is too true. The costs of her rhetoric only, could be too damaging for EU, NATO, etc at an increasingly fragile time. Although boring and maybe a bit outdated, I think the best thing for post brexit Europe is Macron in France and Renzi back in Italy.
This dude is a walking contradiction. How anyone in France can vote for a guy who was the economic minister as the French economy lagged behind its EU counter parts. There is a good chance LePen is going to win, and there is a good chance that Merkel is going to loose her bid for reelection in Germany. Everyone is shitting their pants, about the possibility of another European war. Which is just a ridiculous idea.
