Gaining quantitative experience before applying: Open courseware, Coursera, etc.
Hi,
I am planning to apply to MBB next summer as an APD. I come from a non-business background and it is quite rare to see my field represented at consulting firms.
I have been told that I should brush up on my quant skills before applying, as it will help me in several ways. Now I am just wondering the best way to go about doing that. I am taking a statistics course on Coursera now and I am planning to take a business analytics course when I am done. But, I just wanted to get some other opinions to see if anyone else had any suggestions. Are these good ways to go about improving quant skills? Are there better ones? If someone sees "Completed statistics coursework in MIT open courseware and Coursera" or a resume, would that be looked at positively? I am just curious.
Thanks
