Generating ideas and filtering through the BS you read?

I notice I see a lot of threads on wanting to know how to write ER report or what sectors/industries to cover but what I want to know is how the WSO community generate investment ideas? What sources such as websites and publications do people use to generate original investment ideas? The problem I am running into is I feel like everything I read could be a potential investment and I really need to be able to filter through the BS I read. WSO any advice? Thanks

First you need to understand where to look for investments. Anything you hear about on CNBC or that is covered by analysts is likely not a good use of your time

Yeah that is kind of the point of the thread, where to look for investments. CNBC is BS and they don't know wtf they are talking about. Their job is to push any and everything in all directions depending on the market direction.
