Get over yourself, you're not saving the Fu@k*ng Manatees.

Every single one of you @ssholes on this website doesn't really give a f@ck about anything other than money. We all need to get over ourselves and realize that selling buildings, raising capital, financing, or selling companies is meaningless and were all here for the money!$$$$ NOTHING ELSE. If you really wanted to find meaning in what you do then you would have gone to med school or become some kind of fuc@cking scientist curing diseases. Anyways, I'm off to close a deal, get over yourselves.

Controversial

Gates... Worth 100 B - The guy that flew on the Lolita Express and was in consistent communication with Epstein/Launders billions via his foundation/NGO's, pro depopulation.

Zuckerberg - Worth 70B - (Sponsored by DARPA) The guy that helped develop a platform that intentionally depresses its user base to sell more advertisements/mines all of your data/spies on you/and sells all of your private information.

Bezos - (CIA Cutout) Similar to the above - worth 100b, owns a propoganda media outlet, works his employees like slaves, spies (ring, alexa, etc.), mines/sells data your data, manipulates customers.

Very altruistic bunch there.

Anything other than money? I’m doing a deal right now that will be one of the most significant deals our city has ever seen, and is a development deal, and will not make nearly what I would on any other deal due to the structure. It hurts but fuck you if your view of the world is so limited that you can’t affect change beyond lying to clients about what you’re selling. Some of are responsible for improving the world around us, and are not brokers.

Curious; how do you find meaning in your work if you just look forward to the paycheck? What are your goals and at what point will you have become fulfilled?

Maybe you already have, but god damn, only caring about yourself can make you just about the loneliest person eh? Is the goal to die with every penny you've ever made?

I hurt myself

today

To see if I still feel

I focus on the pain

The only thing that's real

The needle tears a hole

The old familiar sting

Try to kill it all away

But I remember everything

What have I become

My sweetest friend

Everyone I know

Goes away in the end

And you could have it all

My empire of dirt

I will let you down

I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns

Upon my liars chair

Full of broken thoughts

I cannot repair

Beneath the stains of time

The feelings disappear

You are someone else

I am still right here

What have I become

My sweetest friend

Everyone I know

Goes away in the end

And you could have it all

My empire of dirt

I will let you down

I will make you hurt

If I could start again

A million miles away

I will keep myself

I would find a way

I’m pretty sure a ton of people in medical school are in it for the money. Think about it, who would do 4 more years of school, and at least 4 more of training if they were paid an average amount.

For sure, plus you have to be committed to the medical field, most doctors will tell you don’t do it for the money because you will be miserable throughout school, residency, and possibly career. I just think too many people want to enter medical school because they’re after the high salary.

These guys do

The Conservation Fund acquired Paradise Point in January 2015 with the intent of ultimately transferring it to an appropriate entity to manage the property. No public access is anticipated at this time.

Florida manatees in the United States are protected under federal law by the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 and the Endangered Species Act of 1973. It is illegal to harass, hunt, capture, or kill any marine mammal. Florida manatees are also protected by the Florida Manatee Sanctuary Act of 1978.

About The Conservation Fund At The Conservation Fund, we make conservation work for America. By creating solutions that make environmental and economic sense, we are redefining conservation to demonstrate its essential role in our future prosperity. Top-ranked for efficiency and effectiveness, we have worked in all 50 states to protect more than 7.5 million acres of land since 1985.

not everyone. i mean me probably yea, i just want money but there ARE guys who like to do certain types of deals or projects because they think they're cool or sexy or stimulating or whatever. Bill Poorvu talks about this in one of his books ... i believe the words he used were something like, 'there are developers who consider themselves very successful whose projects aren't outrageously profitable.'

hell i'm closely related to someone who would only do a real estate project if it was an opportunity to really 'paint something beautiful on a canvas' and for that reason is very picky.

am i like that? fuck no, i would buy and operate junkyards if it made financial sense.

and there are also ego-driven players at the upper echelons of the industry, such as huge developers or public company execs, who aren't necessarily looking to add something beautiful to the world but seem to enjoy publicity and attention or want the bragging rights or whatever.

Fixed it for you

Because med school grads and scientists curing diseases are going to be conducting their work on the streets or out in the middle of the woods? Nope, they need medical office space or a specialized lab to work in, and the CRE industry will gladly help them find the right space. If the space doesn't exist market demand will incentivize developers to create supply.

The only reason people go into the medical field is to make money, otherwise the hassle of med school, certification, and licensing wouldn't make it worthwhile. I'd even argue that the medical industry is even worse than the CRE industry is when it comes rent-seeking behavior because the general public has a better grasp of real estate knowledge than medical knowledge.

The only two groups of people who don't work for money are slaves and prisoners.

You’ve really been drinking the Kool Aid, eh? I remember when I was able to justify it to myself like you just did. It’s actually better this way because it’s easier to sleep at night thinking that the compound interest on some loan actually matters. With your kind of logic, a butcher in some random midwestern slaughterhouse is actually solving world hunger. Butcher takes low wage>permits manufacturer to sell low cost hot dog> low cost hot dog is accessible to more people>accessibility to more people means more people eat> more people eat then less world hunger..therefore the butcher is solving world hunger. Get over yourself.

OK. So who do you think is contributing to solving world hunger? By your definition it seems that anyone with a profit motive cannot be considered to be doing "good."

Besides which, myself and several other people on these boards are in affordable housing. We're building homes for formerly homeless populations, for the poor elderly folks who can now age in place without massive dislocations, for mentally ill people or other types of supportive housing. I'm sure none of that qualifies either.

yes, 100% agree, but I just wish there was more, you know? More satisfaction, more of a mission. I wanted to be a doctor but my science grades sucked. I re-tried several times (even quit a finance job to retake some pre-med classes) but the result is always the same. Bad science grades. So now how can I use the finance skillset to make the world a tad bit better before I shuffle off the mortal coil? Healthcare IBD / PE? Must be some way out there to help.
