Goldman Sachs ATL office
Anybody know of the culture in Atlanta’s GS Investment Banking office? Would be curious given it seems like it would be a satellite office for them

bump, curious as well.

Top exits due to GS brand. Alot of industrial work and capital raises from what I hear. The GS brand will give you all the PE interviews in the south and some eastcoast
Great opportunity if you can get an interview there, the office is much, much smaller as a regional coverage office.
One of the offices they're investing in as part of the 5-year growth plan for investment banking - so less of a satellite than you may perceive (moving forward, at least). The work and culture, from what I hear, are both solid. I'm sure it doesn't hurt that ATL cost of living is super low.
Bump, also curious about exits.

Wondering the same as well.
Also do they hire straight out of undergrad? If so, do they hire from local schools like Emory?

I don't work in that office but I'd say recruiting is probably solely based on Emory and Duke guys/gals with maybe some SEC-east recruiting (won't say much about these schools because I don't want South Carolina hardos in my inbox crying). Coverage team (only thing in that office besides PWM) is lead by Dave Dase covering TMT and some sports sector stuff. Probably a solid group with room to run if you can get in.
I know that they recruit from UGA, so I can next to guarantee that they hire from Emory. I was able to sit in on of one of their meeting/sessions at UGA. It seems to me that they are trying to expand their presence in the South (Birmingham, Atlanta, etc.).
Anyone here actually done an interview with this office before?
I know one of the guys working there well and used to work with him during my banking days. If he's an indicator of the office culture, I would think it's a great place to be - he's sharp and gets his shit done, but he's also a great team member and fairly relaxed.
They are taking a fairly industry-agnostic approach out of that office and focusing on coverage across the Southeast. I would think it could be an interesting opportunity to get involved in a couple of industries.
Working in a satellite office has it's positives and negatives, but I'm sure you know that.
Exits opps are same as any other GS office
Office is very busy and lots of exposure internally and externally; culture is challenging and not a place to go and "relax"
GS is not expanding to B'ham or CLT - ATL covers SE
Hiring is driven by finding people who want to be in the SE vs the school people attend
Currently not hiring people out of school
Office is growing because increasingly people don't want to sit in NY but when people leave NY / other offices to relocate, they keep the same client underscoring that the strategy, size, focus etc. is indistinguishable from NY/CHI/SF
What are exits from the GS ATL office?
