good price for brooks brothers 1818 line??
What's the standard price for this line, and how cheap have you seen it drop somewhat recently? I can get it for $640 pre-tax and pre-alterations.
Leaning towards the Fitzgerald line, is this still pretty conservative in a solid navy or charcoal? Haven't been in an environment wear people wear suits everyday for a few years so don't want to show up with a slim fit suit if that will turn heads

new yorker - 25% off of what? what's the standard baseline price that you are referring to? Right now online the price is $1000 for one or $1500 for two.
bossman - not saying anything is wrong with them, just wanted confirmation that they were fine before I start my new job (want to buy before I start)

Really wanna reconsider this if you are close to some decent outlets. I know in my area there are a couple and I got like 3 or 4 of the casual non iron shirts for like 120 bucks or something ridiculous like that.

I got the 1818 Fitgerald from one of the malls in my client city for 50% off. Email came out that day saying they have 50% off. Showed up in the store after lunch. They only had few, but found one of my size with decent color, etc. Got it fitted, so it was $550 + $60~ + Tax. So basically you can get it down to 50% off, but just need to be in right place in right time. Back in July they had extra slim fit shirts for 50% off as well in regular store. If anything just look at the clearance section online. If you are oddly shaped, might find something.

I always check bluefly.com before I buy a suit. Though they don't usually have Brooks Brothers, you can usually ferret out some good deals with some looking.

Quality rocks. Just go to the show room, have them pour you a bourbon and check out their stuff. Class act, not some sketchy chinatown sweat shop.

I recently purchased two 1818 fitzgerald suits for 1124 pre-tax and alterations.
I have a Brooks Brothers corporate card through my Borders rewards card. The card normally gives you 15% off at the store (including 15% off "special values"), and they had a sale of 25% off the 2 for 1499 if you had a corporate card. You can sign up for the card for free.
So yeah, you can find a better price, but you may need to wait a bit for the next sale.
