Google chrome's disaster of a commercial

I just saw this commercial, which was cringe inducing. It's embarrassing that there are people out there who actually like this commercial.

Not trying to be a cold-hearted bastard, but what exactly is the guy trying to accomplish with this? Bro, the relationship did not work out. Nothing in life lasts forever. Get over it, cherish the memories, and move on. You really think putting up past photos will make the girl say, "oh yeah, what a nifty use of google chrome. i think i'm gonna have coffee with him and magically get back together."

More importantly, stuff like this is insidious because it encourages men to be beta sentimental pussies who pour their hearts out to women. In its effect, this commercial is similar to those corny romance movies where the male protagonist acts all emotional and manages to win the woman of his dreams.

Or the one where the girl slowly moves the guy from "Creeper" status to boyfriend status...

I agree, these are not very good commercials.

"That dude is so haole, he don't even have any breath left."

What if your ex was on the HBS admissions committee? Would that be a good excuse to use chrome or is it still a beta pussy thing?

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

One dimensional sociopath =/= alpha, it's someone with no depth. I'm sentimental and I'll also bust skulls together [literally] when necessary. I'm not sure how this video fits your thesis at all, have you been getting enough sleep dude?

Move beyond the artificial, severely stunted, "alpha" stereotype, you'll stand a better chance at getting into HBS....and succeeding at life in general.

What does this commercial have to do with HBS? You and boothorbust have this weird thing going on where you guys bring up HBS in every thread i start, regardless of the actual topic being discussed. Pretty funny actually.

Regarding the use of the "beta" term, I frankly don't care much about the alpha/beta dichotomy since it's been overdone. I just think it's a funny way to describe the guy in the commercial because those types of behavior almost always does not work. Being emotional during appropriate times is fine, but there are other times when you have to minimize your losses and just move on.

You know, you're right. I've made a reputation for myself talking about my obsession with HBS. I've really got to take some time off and reconsider my life.
