Got a interview with JP Morgan, any insights?
Analyst position in the Treasury & Securities division.
It belong to the IB or CB of JP Morgan?
And the exit opp? Any chances of Top 10 MBA?
Thanks a lot.

TSS is a back-office position at JP, not IB or CB. Exit ops are probably marginal, similar jobs at other bulges or industry related work. Nothing PE or HF related if that is what you are asking.
No idea aout top 10 MBA. I'm sure it is possible with a strong undergrad.
Well, then I know. I will try to ask the interviewers wether I can get a chance at IBD. Thanks guys!!
top 10 mba is possible anywhere as long as you exceed at your job and accomplish something worthwhile (and of course decent undergrad/gmat)
actually TSS is a totally independent department of JPM, thus it is not a back-office or something. TSS has its own client base, mainly security firms and corporates that need treasury services, trade finances, custodian services and so on. You can find this info at the company website.
If you ask them if you can get a chance at IBD you won't have a chance at any job at JPM. It is one firm that is not a big fan of laterals since they put a lot of effort into training you for your specific job...
Do not let them know you want to use it as a stepping stone to IBD, they won't offer you the job.
So I can't get the chance? No way round?
The situation is, I already have a MM IBD offer, and I really want to try JP Morgan. At the time I was applying, there was not a IBD analyst position yet. So I chose the TSS division.
So what can I do? Comments are much appreciated!
"At the time I was applying, there was not a IBD analyst position yet."
What do you mean by that?
You can't switch from TSS to IBD. The two are different.
JPM's campus recruitment plan in my country didn't provide the IBD position this year. But I really want to join IBD.
And it turned out that JPM was recruiting IBD analysts from another source (an M&A competition).
So I am thinking, if I am honest in the interview by saying I prefer IBD at the end of the day(suppose I have a good performance in the interview), will they consider my personal interest?
you have a way better chance lateraling externally from MM IBD than internally through a totally unrelated department. the MM might not have the name brand or deal flow but at least you'll be getting relevant front office experience, not to mention way better exit ops. i would def take MM IBD > JPM TSS.
Exactly as x13 said. If you want to do investment banking take the MM shop and transfer to a BB whenever you can. Your odds are infinitely better going this route than transferring from an unrelated group, even one within the bank.
JPM puts a lot of effort in training you for specific jobs? What are you talking about? JPM is great for laterals, one of the strong points for working at such a large bank. Agree with the above MM IBD>TSS. Good luck to you!
