Small shop - only 6-7 bankers. Used to be a boutique called Beaufort Partners before it was acquired by Greenhill (Evercore was actually looking to buy Beaufort as well). The two MD's who run the office, are both well regarded as they used to be the heads of MS and GS in Canada. Deal flow is okay, but they are working on the Forzani Group-Canadian Tire deal, which is pretty big news.

Based on the guy's I know who work/worked there.

They are not huge on facetime or pitching. They do deals that are usually in the news, one of the first major deals they helped work on was the BCE mess wayback, ofcourse never closed. They like to promote from within. The pay is crazy good for Toronto, crazy good.

The two guys I know who went there, 1 Ivey, 1 WLU. Were both extremely smart, hardworking but ultimately down to earth, laid back kids and they both really like'd their experience there.

Does anyone happen to know anything about Greenhill Dallas? I know it is run by a couple of the guys who used to run UBS Dallas (supposedly had a falling out w/ their NYC counterparts and jumped ship to Greenhill causing UBS Dallas to be closed down). But does anyone know what kind of deals they do? Hard to imagine the Dallas office getting many big deals -- would think Houston would dominate.
