GS M&A vs MS M&A

Both are top groups and it might be difficult to tell which one is better. What I mean is what is each group good for. For instance I know GS is famous for hostile defense and has vouched they won't advise on hostile takeover (this latter one is debatable though). What are the other reasons that make them the top, what are each better known for?
