Had an interview a week ago, still no response

I had an interview w/ a hedge fund a week ago--the person seemed very nice, and at the end he said I should feel free to email him w/ questions, and that I will be hearing from him soon. On Sunday, I emailed him inquiring him about the status of my application, and told him how I am learning all the time and am still very excited about the internship. I got no response, and now it's Wednesday, and a full week has passed, and I still don't have any response. I don't want to bother him, but I'd really like to know what I'm doing this summer by now. What should I do. Also, should I have asked him some questions through email, since he said I could email him with questions, things that he can easily answer, so that he would reply. But I guess I should have done that right after the interview, instead of now. Besides, I dont' know what to ask him.

Email him.

The same thing happened to me this past week. After waiting a few days with no response, I sent two emails within a period of 48 hours and still received no response. I waited another day, nervous and anxiety-stricken, but ended up sending out a third email (yes, I was desperate indeed). Finally heard back from him. He responded to my third email.

Especially with whats being going on in the financial markets over the past few days, people in the industry have a lot on their plate. Don't be afraid to reconnect.

I wouldnt take it personal. Interns are at the bottom of the food chain, they probably completely forgot about you or just were too stressed to handle it. Remember they put their money on the line every single day, their job is to make money. In the future pay attention to whats going on in the markets and ask yourself if they are likely busy, you absolutely do not want to annoy them.

I was thinking about an ecard, but I thought that people don't like emails with too much graphics in them--what if it freezes their computer or something? So I sent an actual card.

Also, how would I be able to judge if this is a busy time for them? This is a hedge fund, not an investment bank, does all the news recently affect them as much? Just curious, but can someone explain to me why they would be really busy right now?

I am still getting no response, after a total of two emails. If I am rejected, he should just reply and tell me, right? So does this mean I'm probably on the waitlist? Should I email again anytime soon? Should I move on? Please help!!!

You are rejected if you have not heard by now. The guy just doesn't have time to deal with people that were interviewed that they don't want.

kids, please calm down. people are busy, your email is unfortunately not a top priority. if you email them over and over you will piss them off. one email maybe follow up a few days later and thats it.

numi--i can only imagine someone sending an e-card with an animated panda and some corny music, that would be classic.

yeah i know its not the end of the world not to get an internship freshman year, I just need a job this summer, and i just want to know already so if i dont get it i can check out my other prestigious offer - working at a golf course, and i wanted to do an internship early so i can find out if i even like finance. anyway i go to school in south carolina, so talk about a non target. im not a genius or extracurricular freak, 3.5 and in a fraternity thats about it, just an average dude. well thats my 2 cents. big gulps huh? alright, see ya later!
