Hedge funds in los Angeles?
Does anyone know of any hedge funds in los Angeles? LA is where I want to work after graduation but I've become concerned with a possibility of a lack of options ahead

Career Resources
Canyon Capital Patners, Armored Wolf, Knightsbridge, and PAAMCO are a few of the funds in the LA/OC area. There are several hedge funds in greater Los Angeles, but they are mostly too small to hire undergrads for any front office type of role. Just search "Investment Advisors" on the findthebest.com within 50 miles of LA.
Oaktree have some quasi-private Hedge Funds.
Besides what they stated...
Ares Management Guggenheim Partners (They actually do it all) Post Advisory Group Ivory Capital Management NWQ Investments Robeco Investment Management Cowen Group Angelo, Gordon & Co. Psetta Capital Management Camden Asset Management Scalene Capital Management AXA Rosenberg Investments Doubline Capital
Knightsbridge isn't a hedge fund.

YoungHedge, what do you know about PAAMCO? Apart from it being a fund of funds in Irvine....
Thanks,
Phil
Canyon is an awesome shop imo - don't think they're hiring right now though. Also some quality distressed debt "hybrid" shops like Clearlake and Tennenbaum. I would think it very difficult/near impossible to get there straight out of UG though. Generally you have a better shot at a quality HF after two years of ibanking/LevFin/SSG (there are exceptions for super qualified candidates).
