I went through their S&T interviews and first round was mostly fit. A few technicals like what do you think of the market and what is DB stock trading at, but mostly it was shootin the sh!t with the guys about my life. But that was just my experience. 2nd rounds, however, i got kinda grilled...though I found that to be the standard format around most banks.
I had a superday with them yesterday, but their first round was ok. They asked me one accounting question and a brainteaser (the balls on a scale), but other than that the rest was fit.
Did you happen to interview at the NY office and was it for global banking? I have my superday next Thursday and was curious how I should prepare for it and what I should expect. I would appreciate any insight and I wish you the best of luck during this hectic time. Thanks.
Thanks grandpabuzz...will try to keep that in mind in case I get selected to interview in the next coming week.
Which Office was this for?
OMG...I got selected to interview.
It's crunch time for me.
:-)
To those who got interviews, do you go to a target?
No.
But they are recruiting on-campus, so I figured, why the hell not?
What are you doing to prep for your interview? Anything specific? Any good resources?
Let's see...reading my corporate finance textbook to get refreshed on the basics.
Reading the Vault and WSO interview guides (worth the $9, I must add).
Mostly, I'm just trying to study for my midterm on Saturday and relax so I can be coherent and put together during the interview.
:-)
Not one technical.
We just kind of sat there and chatted.
It was pretty cool.
And she said, "Thank you so much for being here!" about 3 or 4 times.
Is this SOP? Are they trained to be that effusive over somebody they're interviewing?
Whatever...I just hope I make it to round 2 in NYC.
:-)
Didn't get called back for Superday.
Good luck, though!
:-)
Hello, I will be traveling to NY for the final round of interviews, is anyone going??
I am going. good luck!

Anyone heard back yet? I know HR said early next week but I figured decisions might be released a little earlier.
Was this for NY? Core or noncore?
Hey, Jules. Yes it as NYC. I believe it was non-core but there were a few people from semi-targets/non-targets. Heard back?
Hey Sarah, thanks for the insight. I wasn't at the superday, but am curious to see if the office is still recruiting. Does anyone know if they're holding any more non-core superdays? Or any superdays, in that case...
Help ! DB global banking corporate finance full time 1st round (Originally Posted: 10/19/2009)
Hi everyone,
I have a 1st round interview with Deutsche global banking in corporate finance coming up this Wednesday, for full time Analyst position.
I'm still a bit confused about what this group does. It is essentially Ibanking right?
What's crazy is they have 1st round on campus on Wed, and immediately final round on Thursday, also on campus. This means that I have to prepare for final round NOW.
Does anyone have any idea what type of questions they might be asking? I'm from a liberal arts semi-target u might say, economics major, no finance background, had internship experience at a mutual fund and blackrock PAG.
Any case interviews from these guys? or just market questions ???
Thanks so much! Hope to see your response!
This is their ibanking division. Expect a mix of technical and behavioral questions. I interviewed with them for a summer analyst position in the spring and got a semi-case question, but nothing difficult.
good luck!
