Former CRA employee here so can give an honest and somewhat informed review. The firm culture is good, Marakon people have always been tight nit and distance themselves a bit from the broader CRA organisation. The work is interesting, they do typically strategy/management consulting with on-site client work (at least they did before COVID). Few industry verticals, but Juniors get a chance to work across all of them. Depending on the office you apply for, exposure will vary. In London it was about 30% Energy, 30% Financial Services, 30% Consumer and 10% Industrials. Hours can be long, we would often see the Marakon guys pull 60-70 hour weeks whilst CRA is more along the lines of 40-50 (except the Competition practice which is an absolute sweatshop). Most Marakon guys I've seen leave have ended up in high-up corporate roles or entry level MM PE roles. Lateralling to T2s or MBB is also possible. Overall I would say it is a very good place to start your career. Marakon is known as a consulting "elite boutique" alongside Kaiser Associates, Mars & Co and Altman Solon.
