How important is height when recruiting for high finance?

I bet the only reason why I can't land anything prestigious is because I'm 5'7.

Should I get leg lengthening surgery to become 6'+, hopefully, and improve my chances of getting a front office banking job?

The idea of this post is decent, but the execution could be better. It's too obvious that you're joking about the surgery. To get a SB from me, I need to see excellence in your posts.

I know you're capable of being great. Dont let us down next post.

Have you ever thought of investing in real estate?

I've actually seen an article, could have been efinancial or Bloomberg, I can't remember exactly where and it said something about taller people being more likely to get promoted over their "shorter" peers at an investment bank. I mean I wish it wasn't true... If you look any investment bank and look inside the MD's office, they're at least 5'10 -- from my own personal experience. I'm short, probably shorter than average and it does bother me time to time and I feel like people don't take my seriously, especially the women in the industry. But it's something I can't control, no matter what, so I try to use my knowledge and professionalism to make up for that gap... There is this thing called corporate jargon, google it. It's bullshit speaking done by the executive level that I've been trying to master. At the end of day, investment bank is all politics. If you can play the game, you're good. Silly as it sounds, yes its true. FYI - Don't get an extension surgery, it's extremely painful and you may not even fully recover to enjoy outdoor activities.

I think that your height is just fine. What you really need is confidence and attitude! great people don't need height! Talent is everything. Maybe, I can't imagine what you are facing right now but I just want to tell that you matter whether you are heightened or not.
