I'm cheap, so I usually stayed long enough to order dinner and just surfed the web while I ate then left, unless I had early plans.

If you don't have anything active going on, I think it's totally fine to leave by 6/7 on Friday. If you legit don't know if something will come up, check in with an associate or VP at that time before you leave.

We used to leave a little earlier on Fridays too. Most analysts would be gone by 7 or 8 unless you were actively working on something pressing. Friday nights at the office were always the quietest and most depressing of all.

Usually a bit earlier...though it doesn't really matter, you're still a slave and likely just delaying the work that needs to get done, lol. Definitely good to get out of the office and get some free time. Oddly enough I ran across this article today and thought it was simultaneously inspirational and depressing. Ironically this is why people come to Wall Street, sadly everyone is too busy to mimic this guy's behavior. This is probably not safe for most people's work. There are no bad images, just awesome descriptions, lol. Enjoy.
