How to move to US

I am looking for advice on how to get a job in the US.

I am a UK citizen working as a Pharmaceutical & Biotech analyst for a large but non-US/non-FINRA member firm .

I have Levels 1 & 2 of the CFA (sitting L3 in June), have the CAIA charter, passed the series 63 and a degree (BSc) in Biology & Genomics from a top UK university (St. Andrews).

Any tips would be much appreciated, especially on creative ways that i might be able to do the Series 7 and 87.

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about the 7 or 87 (you'll be exempt from the 86 if you become a CFA Charterholder). Most employers will just sponsor you for them after you are hired. What exactly are you wanting to do?

I am looking to stick within equity research and really want to cover the US biotech sector as I find it so much more exciting to follow versus what is available in Europe (I cover large-cap EU Pharma & Biotech now). I'm on the buy-side at the moment but thinking about moving onto the sell-side for a slightly faster pace now that I (fingers crossed) have the main exams I need...just need to find a job before April's H1B deadline!

The job market is bleak, that being said you have some impressive credentials. I'd say you got a good shot at landing a job at a hf or ib, but i'm not sure if you will be able to find something in pharma/biotech by april with it being somewhat of a niche area.
