How to pass the Series 3 Exam?
Hi WSO,
I am looking for the most applicable Series 3 study material and a process to go about it?
So far it seems like the IFM material is the most comprehensive theifm org/books/nfa-series-3-exam-standard-study-set
I know futures / options and regulatory are significant but want to know if others such as Kaplan or SecuritiesExam are any good.
I studied the 7 but ended up not needing to take it so I recognize the need to dedicate time to the material.
Thank you for your time.
I used STC when I took my 3. I've heard positive things about Kaplan as well but I've only used STC materials for each exam I've taken. Whatever material you use just make sure you study enough. It's good to remember 70% is the same as 100% with these exams.
Show up?
Study
I recommend Knopman for series 3 for sure. Overall the 3 is a simple test on some light futures math etc. Oh I miss the days of hogs and heffers.
I'm sure a lot of people will say the same but just sit down and take the time and grind out the studying. I did about 1month of studying about 3-4 times a week for a few hrs a day. Practice tests are always key.
Easiest test out there - got a 93% without studying. If you dont pass you deserve to get slapped with the back side of a dick.
anyone have series 3 materials? (Originally Posted: 12/23/2010)

Series 3 Exam - Study Material (Originally Posted: 10/04/2017)
Hi,
I'm just wondering what people recommend for study material. Seems to be a lot out there with prices varying.
I think I've narrowed my choices to STC or IFM books. Anyone used this material before?
My background is in trading physical grain in Australia so I have a good understanding of the majority of futures/options concepts and maths. however I don't know much about rules and regulations.
Any input appreciated.
Thanks
Dfghkkjl, shame nobody has responded. Maybe one of these topics will help:
