how to raise money for a fund

if you wanted to start a hedge fund and already had an investment philosophy and strategy down, how do you raise money? what is the best way to approach it as a college student (I understand it is EXTREMELY hard to start a fund right out of college, but I've heard a few stories of it occurring and want to learn more). any tips, sources, or books anyone can refer me to? thanks!

Michael Bury started writing for Yahoo I think about his stock picks and investment ideas in the early 2000s. He raised funds from his family and got a lot of exposure from Yahoo and his stock picks were pretty accurate so people took note and he nearly had a billion under management around 06. I know it doesn't directly answer your question. But what I'm saying is you could have the best investment thesis but if you have no exposure. Your fucked

As Wolf said if you haven't already been posting solid advice on SA or somewhere similar you won't stand much of a chance right out of school. This generally also means have rich family members.

Alternatively you could have the right connections but this is probably even more rare. You'd probably be better working for a different firm first if for no other reason to learn how the industry works first hand.

Hoping for hedge life.

I'm in high school right now

Probably should focus on some short term goals then like going to college and getting an internship before "starting a hedge fund"
