yeah, i agree with ibanalyst - i would imagine their front office first rounds must have finished by now. you might have a chance in technology, banks rarely manage to find enough qualified people for those slots.

if you're lucky you might get an email telling you that they have finished recruiting. otherwise expect to hear nothing.

you misspelled "you're" and I'm sorry someone online called me an idiot after over a months worth of questions here no one ever gave me a link or helpful bit of advice and just said "cold call" which I did, and the person on the phone sent me the link. I asked if I could have an informational interview and she said it was all done online. So no sir, you ARE an idiot and fuck you.

You really think that gets to me? I'm on replying because I wanted to see if you had something useful to say but no, you're just an idiot. Are you an Ibanker? didn't think so. And once again, it's "you're" I didn't know people were this dumb.

yury quit whining and why are you looking for sympathy? This is a cuthroat industry and no one wants to hear you crying about how no one provided you with helpful advice. It is common sense that applying online is not going to do much considering it is GS and of course the company will refer you to their website. What did you think, she would say, "Oh thanks for calling, send me your resume now!" Your from a non-target and its Goldman, network through your alumni, go to other school's information sessions, and do whatever it takes to meet people from the firm. People who just apply online don't deserve Goldman b/c it shows you don't care at all about Goldman or else you would have taken your time to meet people at the firm and find a way in. So don't bash people for calling you a dumb fuck, because if thats what it takes for you to wake up and be realistic then so be it, because right now YOU are the dumb fuck

I actually applied to GS for an experienced position a few years back, and got an email asking for a phone interview from both their equity and FICC divisions. Needless to say I was pretty shocked to get a response at all.

It's way too late right now kid, not to mention you're from a non-target with a just about decent gpa for Banking. The day someone gets a call back for an entry level position is the day you'll see penguins fly.

Pm me if you wanna know what other avenues are available to you.

sigh I'm not whining or asking for sympathy. And not wanting it? I live in Pittsburgh, PA and asked for an information session in NYC. That means I am willing to fly up to NYC just to meet with someone from the company. How's that for effort/dedication?

I'm not going to get offended or give up. Plus the application took me 10 minutes tops. I did it out of curiosity and maybe they'll hold it until next year, which gives me a 9 month heads up. Thanks for the "I'll never be IB material" if heard it so much I'll just start thanking people.

GS isnt you're only option. Network your ass off and try to get a summer spot somewhere other than a BB. Then you can apply for a full-time spot next year, but no promises, coming from a non-target makes it a real challenge. Good luck!

Good luck, Yury, and ignore some of the guys on this board. If you are willing to work hard to make some good things happen, then it will. But, like what streetmonkey said, keep your options open and see if you can find a summer spot somewhere...anywhere. Just having something could give you a chance at a great place next year. And think about what you want more than just BB or bust. Look at who your direct supervisors will be. That will have much more influence on the type of banker you will someday become than the bank you work at.

Good luck!
