I work in Miami and I'm a 1st year Consultant: What are my chances in PE?
Hello all,
I'm a recent business school graduate from a Top 25 public university that is currently working as a consultant for a PE/VC software firm based out of Miami, FL. My clients consist of many heavy hitters in the industry with AUM ranging from $100 million to $10 billion and I consult them on everything from their fund accounting to key reports being sent to investors. I've also been doing ample research into the recruiting process for PE firms as well as developing my financial modeling skills, but I have no deals to put on my resume.
Landing an associate position is my goal and I will work tirelessly to reach it, but I would really appreciate some veteran advice on:
- What to put on my resume in order to adequately make up for no deal experience
- Which recruiting firms to reach out to that are known to seek out management consultants
- What types of PE firms would be best for someone with operational experience
I look forward to your thoughts.
