How would they know?
They will probably ask for my transcript before I officially start, but you're right, it won't say I was on academic probation.

I think they only ask for your diploma to verify you graduated and MAYBE official transcript to make sure you kept their GPA minimum. I think you gotta check the offer letter to see if there were any conditionals for the job offer (i.e graduation, gpa min, drug test, etc.)

I got on probation due to poor performance during my second semester as a freshman. I bounced back somewhat the summer semester after and since then I've been going strong.
I plan on applying to the business school at the end of this or next year at my college (a target) as well, and provided I get in, that would delay my graduation for a 1-2 years since it's a 3 year program, giving me more time to get my gpa up.
If by time of application my gpa is >= 3.7, would probation still come back to bite me?
Also, if I interned overseas at a mid market bank this summer and had a part time job at a BB PWM during the academic year, would that position me well for a solid boutique internship the summer after? I'm just trying to get an idea of what kind of experience others may have at that stage.

It seems that this will most likely depend on your university's policies for admission to the undergraduate business program. I suggest that you look up their criteria for admission, and speak to your dean about what information is and is not available to the business program admissions committee, and also about his personal experience in these matters.
Might impact your chances of getting into the b-school, but for the actual job, if you have a 3.7 at that point you will be more than fine. They generally just look at the number, at least for finance interviews; if a transcript is requested, it's usually only to verify your GPA is honest. Good luck!
For IBD, it won't matter. For B-school it might (doubtful). I just received,and accepted, an offer to attend GSB. I have 3 big fat Fs on my transcript from my undergrad days. I was not only on academic probation my first year, I was also subject to disqualification. I finished UG with a 3.5, and 3.9 in MS program. Point is, I doubt it will matter for either IBD or Bschool.
Would firms look down on delayed graduation in terms of internship applications? i.e. if I applied to an SA job for the summer after my 5th year as an undergrad will it raise eyebrows?
Obviously that is provided I do get into the b-school
