IE Business School (Madrid) - Master in Finance - Too old?

Hi everyone! Long story short, I am a 28 years old Italian, and I have a degree (bachelor and master) in History. No work experience in Finance. Gmat is 700. I reached out to the Director of Admissions of IE Business School, and she replied that my profile "suits our program very well" and invited me to apply for the master.

While I understand that this master is very good, albeit inferior to LBS, Bocconi and Hec, I have to say that being alrealdy 28 years old without a relevant work experience is a daunting concern for me in term of future job opportunities: for instance, I reckon that landing in IB is very difficult and that's an euphemism. In particular, being the master quite expensive (€ 37 000, more than Bocconi and Hec!, plus opportunity cost), I do need to have reasonable - at least in term of salary - job prospects. What do you think?

I kept it short, but I will give you more information if necessary. I add that I have no problem with math and I can handle calculus I and some calculus II (partial derivatives, but not differential equations), basic linear algebra, but I am weak - but not illiterate - on statistic; I have a basic knowledge of finance (the three financial statementes, basic capital budgeting, bond and stock valuation, capm, option valuation, Modigliani-Miller), but I am weak in pure accounting. I'm learning python and I will start a 6 month full time coding course this month. I am also in contact with ESADE (Barcelona), which offer a cheaper master with a similar reputation.

Thank you for replying. I have discovered finance recently and I enjoy studying it (I did like in particular solving exercises on asset pricing and portfolio management). I am trying to understand whether it is reasonable to start now trying to get in (in particular considering the cost of education). I do not have a clear "dream job" in mind.

I am right now enrolling in a coding course, that's why I am also studying python, which I know may be also useful in some finance job. Job prospect are good for web developer, but not exceptional.
