Intellectual Property Finance Career
I will be starting with a Big 4 firm in their valuation group and was approached by a partner to consider looking into the firm's intellectual property practice (I have a background in electrical engineering and worked as a research analyst with a small VC fund for about two years, researching tech. firms).
The practice does valuation, licensing and transactions of intellectual property. It does sound pretty exciting but I am a little worried about future prospects and pigeon holing myself into a niche space. In the long run, I would want to explore opportunities in corporate development or venture capital.
Any past experiences or opinions on intellectual property finance, common exit opportunities, the future of the space etc. will be deeply appreciated.
