Interview at SAC Capital tomorrow.
I have an interview for a position within the Finance department at SAC Capital in CT tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone has any experience interviewing there or any general tips on landing the job.
Thanks in advance!
Tell them you're interviewing for the opening at CR Intrinsic.
haha
Yea, I'm totally aware of all the legal stuff revolving around SAC right now, I'm pretty sure it will be brought up tomorrow.
I got grilled by a senior macro PM about the markets and my trading style even though it was for an internship, by far my toughest interview ever.
I can talk about markets all day and greatly prefer such questions, but it was the nature of questions that were asked that made it seem like he was looking to hire someone to run money instead of an intern role.
Tell them you love art with hidden cocks all throughout
Drop subtle hints about any public company boards you are part of or throw the hiring manager some stock pitches based on insider info. You'll probably be a good fit
Drop hints about any friends or family connections you may have at public companies.
"What would your friends say is your biggest strength and weakness?"
"Well my buddy who sits on the board of insert name of publicly traded company here always said that..."
Awesome tips, thanks! Just got back and I think it went very well. Question though, should I include my resume in the thank you letters or is that overkill?
Had 4 rounds in one day, technical, behavioral, behavioral, and situational, all the way up the ladder
they'd be more interested in seeing a mosaic'd photo of kim kardashian than ur resume in a thank you note (just make sure to specify that that u valued it first)
gl on the results!

I have a phone interview scheduled later this week with SAC in Stamford. It's for a FT position in their operations department. Since the phone interview is with HR I think it would be more fit than technical. I was wondering what you guys think I will be asked or if anyone has any insight on SAC's culture, interview process, etc.
What does Ops do?
I spent a year in Ops and I still don't know.
Flake is all over you like white on rice UFO :-p
PS- I started posting here when I was 6 and a half.
