Interview with Southwest

This is somewhat of a long shot... but has anyone interviewed with Southwest? I fly out Tuesday to interview for an intern spot in the Cabin Services Strategic Planning department, and I have no idea what to expect.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Are you flying on Southwest? Mildly curious if they do that lol

Seriously though, imagine you are put in charge of the Cabin Services department. What would you look at? What are your goals? Customer service/upselling I would think, and how does this fit into the market segment Southwest targets? What would you want to study? What profit generating ideas do you have?

I remember a case study in some consulting practice cases book about an airline that is thinking about introducing premium coffee in business class to take advantage of a lack of price sensitivity. How would you determine if this is a good idea?

I would imagine if you give those questions some good thought you will be in pretty good shape.

I do not work in that industry, but do work in corp strat in F100. I would be impressed if someone I was interviewing had some good thoughts about my industry and perhaps even an idea or two.

Good luck

Just speculation: I'd imagine it'll be something close to a consulting interview, but ofc, with focus on SW and airlines.

A couple things off the top, -Given some basic data, ask to analyze and identify problem, think up possible solutions -Structure basic financials (not accounting statements, but more like business management) regarding business divisions -Evaluation of business ideas, i.e. is weight-reduction at the cost of convenience worth it?
