Investment banking experience on resume

As we approach full time recruiting, I'm sure you guys are updating your resumes with new bullet points reflecting your most recent internship experience. If you are in investment banking this summer, how are you guys formatting/explaining what you did? Obviously modeling is very limited as an intern and what we take care of include but not limited to mostly qualitative work - updating buyers list, etc.
So what is the best way to portray on paper that I learned a lot by going through past transactions and models on my on time, while successfully completing deliverables requested.

You can't write that you went through past models/pitchbooks in your spare time. You can mention it in conversation though.
I think the key takeaway is that if you worked with an analyst on any part of the model, you list it. Just get ready for hell come interview times when you begin walking through assumptions, drivers, key financials and metrics from the model.

Just out of curiousity I was wondering what way people present the work they've done (at Analyst level) at IB's?
Do you include deal value, names of companies you've worked on or both...do you emphasis the skills you have developed or do you focus more on tasks.
Genrally would it be along the lines of:
-Worked on pitch books -Live pitch experience -modelling -report writing
Specific examples would be great.

M&I has a resume which is generally accepted as being effective.
Yeah, but it's used so much that it might be too common.
This is IB....you're supposed to conform. This is not the buyside where they want you to be a contrarian. Just conform, and be a trainable/mold-able monkey
If you want to be contrarian, you could try a video CV.
Help me put IB experience at a boutique into resume (Originally Posted: 09/08/2012)
I'm having a difficult time putting my 1 year IB experience at a boutique (started as an internship, but got extended) into bullets on my resume (and I guess cover letter too). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Summary of experience: - Did some basic DCF, precedent transaction, comps modeling for the deals I worked on. - Spent a majority of my time working on all aspects of one deal including substantive work on the new business presentation, valuation, executive summary, CIM, investor/buyer list, management presentation, presentations with updates to the board, etc. I was also involved throughout the due diligence, marketing, and closing process (putting together information packages for potential buyers, etc.). Deal has not closed yet, but expected to close by end of the month. - Put together buyer and target lists for other deals. - Put together multiple new business presentations. - Analyzed potential investment opportunities, mostly biofuels/renewable energy (the firm also makes small investments) - Did some (not much) work on a couple capital raises.

Try starting each bullet with strong, descriptive action verbs such as "Implemented", "Discovered", or "Formulated" to promote the constructive nature of your efforts that produced real results.
Example: Constructed a list of strategic buyer and target candidates for various other deals the firm conducted
It's really just BS but it sounds better than "Put together buyer and target lists for other deals".
