Investment Banking MBA Associate Starting Salary - 2019

What are the starting salaries for investment banking in the U.S. for 2019 (stub year)? I'll be a summer associate this summer and was wondering how salaries are at BB, EB, and MM banks.

I’m starting as a Summer Associate as well, I believe starting base is 150, roughly equal to summer associate rate.

As for stub bonus, well, I think that Is based on the bank. Maybe someone else here can offer more insight but I would expect stub+ FT signing bonus might be about 50-60.

I think it's relatively well-known by now that post-MBA Associate base salaries are at $150k across the BBs. I think what we really need confirmation of is the year-to-year progression of the base salaries after this latest increase.

Is it:

  • $150k/$150k/$175k/$200k OR

  • $150k/$175k/$200k/$225k OR

  • $150k/$150k/$200k/$200k?

I think I've seen all three variations in some form or fashion over the last several months. Can anyone confirm?

Post MBA Asoc starting salary was 125k for many years until Summer 2018 when MS raised it to 150 for all current and incoming Summer/Asc0/Asc1's and most other BB's followed suit. Other top BB's I can definitely confirm adopted the 150: JPM, CS, GS and Citi (I'm sure most everyone else did as well).

For reference: I graduated B-school in 2018 and just finished my stub year (MBA Assoc 0) at a top BB (GS/MS/JPM) in NYC (125k base for 2017 summer internship as the raise had not taken effect, 150k base starting full-time Aug 2018) . My experience and guidance on post MBA Asoc comp below for BB's (boutiques will be higher in all cases):

Summer Asoc: 150k base (prorated) (overtime at 50% at Citi and MS0 above 40 hrs) Signing Bonus Full-Time: 40k + 10k early + 10k relocation = 60k total (excl fellowships) Asoc 0 (stub year): 150k base (prorated) + 95k bonus (prorated = ~38.5k [my bank specific]) Asoc 1: 150k base + median 110k bonus Asoc 2: 200k base + median 160k bonus Asoc 3: 225-250k base + median [90% base bonus?]

It only applies to interns. You get overtime after 40 hours worked, but it's pretty paltry. Something like half your normal hourly salary for every hour over 40 worked per week, but it goes down as the hours go up (asymptotically).

Curious on how this works in terms of years? For example, if you graduated B-School in summer of 2019, is it: Asoc 0: 150k base through 2019 then Asoc 1 in '20, 2 in '21, and 3 in 2022?
