Is a Corporate Finance Certification from Columbia University worth it?
I don't have a target school on my resume so I was wondering if this certification will help. The focus is on investments, valuation, stocks, etc. Do you think this is worth it?

Career Resources
I don't know anything about this specific certification, but I think the generic answer is that there is some limited value. If you can get in at a cost that doesn't break your heart, why not.
It's only 450$ (which to me isn't bad because it's Columbia) so I think I might do it! Thanks
Sorry to pop your bubble but these certifications from top schools are nothing but a money grab leveraging their brand. I've not come across a single case where a candidate had an edge because he had some certifications. Also, I chuckle every time someone tries so hard to put one of these school names on their LinkedIn profile and CV. You are better off clearing CFA L1. These certifications can easily be obtained if you have the money. CFA exams, not so much.
good to know!.... i wasnt sure if that was the case
Depends where you're at with your career. Are you a student? - if so maybe...
I've been in accounting for 2 years and have an internship as an investment analyst. I'm 20 and I want to get ahead while I can so I thought maybe it might help
Go for it, definitely won't hurt especially if $450 is not a lot for you.
Personally this would not help at all if I were the one reviewing a resume. Save the $500 and just buy like the WSO IB prep pack for $200. WhatsThePoint is a 2nd year analyst in risk management...
thank you for letting me know! Im not sure if you read my situation in the other comment, "I've been in accounting for 2 years and have an internship as an investment analyst. I'm 20 and I want to get ahead while I can so I thought maybe it might help" but what would you suggest for someone like me?
Self studying, network for IB internships
I'm hoping to get into VC so i've been networking endlessly. thanks!
