It's arguably more difficult, since the "lower ranked" banks want to be the top tier banks and they have more to prove. Most likely, if you are even able to get an interview in the first place with the top shops, it will be a fair and even tone throughout the interview process. Lower ranked shops have turned up the heat on questionable candidates in the past.

Point is, all of these banks have the same goals in mind. They all want the best kids from the best schools. Those kids have their pick of the litter every year, as long as they meet some very basic requirements of ability. For kids that don't fit this background, it's up to you to prove yourself in each interview you're lucky to get.
