do you have any experience or at least internships?
I know a few people who did it right from school, but all had interned with the firm the summer before. I think their internships might have even been in audit, but I don't know.
The few guys I know that did it didn't seem to have any issues, but the sample size is extremely small. Overall, I think it is actually difficult, though.
Also, I did come from an Accounting program where the Big 4 basically fought over candidates (top 10).
Not as easy as audit but not as hard as CF. I presume you live in the US, so this may not be relevant, but some Big4 are having a hiring freeze in advisory in Europe..
what group in TAS are you applying to? deal integration, valuation, due diligence, m&a advisory?
i spoke to EY recruiters and they said TAS integration and valuation groups are "ultracompetitive at the campus level" and that those groups dont have largely recruit in the first place. due to the mkt conditions, they might not recruit at all. the best way is to "contact your career services center"
I don't think there's a lot of hiring for what you're looking for right now, especially not outside of the intern pool. Aside from that, what's FSU ranked in accounting? I go to U of I, ranked #1/2 depending on the year and I've had friends who interned at Big 4, tried to get in but failed.

I have a friend who interned at the Big 4 this summer. He said that on the campus level the group mostly recruits from its own pool of interns.

How competitive is getting into Big 4 TAS compared to a BB or Boutique? (Originally Posted: 08/21/2011)
I am thinking about going into TAS for an accounting firm such as Grant Thornton. Is it generally easier to break in than banking?
Big 4 advisory managers would kill a baby to get into ibanking
i know but at the entry level, if I had a couple UBS PWM internships, and a BB Ops internship, would I be considered as a competitive applicant?
how's your gpa? It shouldn't be too difficult. Is this for an internship?
no for full time. gpa is a 3.3 from a nontarget
Grant Thorton is big 4? Good experience but shitty GPA; still shouldn't be that hard.
Grant thornton is not a Big 4 firm...
