Jane Street Internship Advice
I'm a junior who's going to be a trading intern at Jane Street this summer, and I'm really intent on doing well and getting a return offer. I'd really appreciate any advice on what I can do before the summer to best prepare myself and also info on what the evaluation criteria are for the internship itself. To be clear, I'm particularly interested in hearing from people with experience/ knowledge of JS specifically, but of course, am grateful for anyone's informed input.
In case it's relevant, I study math at a target and had a previous trading internship at another prop firm (Optiver/Akuna/IMC/SIG). Also, my current plan is to brush up on some python data-handling libraries and maybe learn some excel. Thanks for any help!
Have you converted your previous internship?
Yeah
Why have you decided not to go with that offer then?
I interned at JS many years ago so a lot may have changed. I didn't use any python during the internship just Excel. Many interns used VBA then. No clear evaluation criteria but I think communication and fit /enthusiasm are pretty important. I didn't get a return offer and instead became a quant which I am better suited for.
