Lateral/Exit Opportunities from SF to NY?
Hey all,
For some background, I'm a native New Yorker who accepted a FT IB offer for a MM Bank's San Francisco office. The job is obviously focused around Tech/Healthcare -- two industries I am excited to work with. However, a major concern that has lasted in the back of my mind are exit/lateral opportunities moving forward, whether it be to another bank or buy-side. Am I at a disadvantage compared to those working in NYC if I want to move there eventually?
Bump
You'll probably be at a small advantage (edit: meant disadvantage), but not a major one.
Be proactive about reaching out to headhunters and places you might like to work in NYC, and you'll be fine. People move across coasts all the time as opportunities arise.
Why do you say it's an advantage? And also, when in the timeline should I start reaching out to headhunters / how would you suggest I find them?
he definitely meant disadvantage
