Lehman Brothers--Best Groups, Exit Opps, Brand Equity.

I have an internship with Leh this summer as a Sophomore. Assuming my plan is to do IB for a few years, then go to HBS, then PE. Would the top groups at Leh be enough in terms of brand prestige and the like? Or should I strive for MS/GS for the following summer? (Which is relatively attainable in my situation)

Whatever, this isn't a situation where you can disrespect someone.

Regardless, in one word, yes, Lehman is fine. Business schools aren't in love with bankers and don't neccessarily differentiate much between them at BBs. The post analyst experience is probably the biggest differentiator for B school (ie. PE, Corp Dev't etc) and also the progression speed.

You'll be fine dude-- pick the bank that has the best culture for you and you'll do well for yourself. Guys from Lehman, Credit Suisse, UBS and all other non-GS/MS banks still get into to top PE/HF and business schools.

If you really want to differentiate for b-school you might think of one of hte prestigious boutiques. Becuase they have smaller analyst classes they really differentiate on b-school apps.

I've heard the same being true for regional BB offices with execution prescense + PE after. Once you get in this business you might even not want to get a MBA - I'd suggest being a bit more flexible with your career path -- but its obviously up to you.

Nah I didn't do SEO this year, and i'm still considering whether it's worth doing junior summer as well. I got in applying through the scholarship program which is linked to the Soph. Rotational. Interviewed well, and got 'em both. Thanks for the answer Westcoasting. What about some of Leh's top groups?
