Lying about current school

Hey Guys,

I'm an Accounting major really struggling to gen an internship. I'm thinking about lying about the school I go to to get interviews from the big four My GPA is great, extracurriculars, leadership ok, etc.
When I go to career fairs I get a lot of positive attention, however this is form small firms who have a very limited number of spots. The big four do not recruit at this fairs for my school.

If I keep my resume the same and change the school name to a target, how risky a move is this? I'll keep my grades the same and format the transcript to replicate the new school. When they do the background check, will that catch this? Or is that just criminal history? Do they use Clearing House? Will they press charges for fraud? Will the fraud charges get me kicked out of my actual school even though this has nothing to do with them? I just desperately need the internship. I would list it on my resume and accept a job elsewhere.

NO. This ish only works on "Suits". I suggest that you do not lie.

Even if you made it, your colleagues will figure it out. The whole point of internships is networking/maintaining relationships after you leave. You can't and people to linkedin with a funny profile. If they catch you, you will be blackballed from all future employment with the firm. Everyone in your group will gossip/learn of your lies.

Depending upon the size of your industry specialization/group, other major players will blackball you. You cant provide a reference because your old employer will mention your fraud. Furthermore, in small industry/specialized groups people know each other and bounce between firms. I have had many interviews where the new company knew my ex. Manager and MD very well. They will directly ask them about you, because moving between firms at a young level is expected.

It scares me to think that someone with this low of integrity and such a willingness to falsify documents might someday be in charge of certifying the auditing of company financial statements.

Yeah I second dingdong... Seriously though make yourself a god, perfect test scores, harvard scholar, violin master, etc

Do you want to be an insurance salesman or do you want to be a banker? You only live once bro

People have made it all the way to the CEO level before getting caught. It's doable, but will likely blacklist you from those companies. Try it and report back.
