MBA Chances - 2 Fs & 2Ds on transcript
I am in my final year of University with a 3.3 GPA. I had a 3.7+ in first, second, fourth year. (made deans list those 3 years as well).
During third year I was going through some personal problems and was also super burnt out and that had a negative impact on my GPA (2 Fs and 2Ds). How would that be perceived by business schools?
I was also in a hard program (Computer Science and BBA double degree). I did multiple internships in consulting at Deloitte, and one internship in back office finance at a bulge bracket, passed CFA level 1 and 2 during my undergrad, started my own company, and I am about to file a patent in clean energy (I will file it before I apply to grad school).
Do you think I have a shot at a deferred M7 MBA if I manage to get a 750+ GMAT (I look a mock and got 760 so I think I should be able to get atleast 750 after preparing for a few months)
The deferred admission MBA programs would probably prefer to wait and see a longer track record of you on your feet and performing. In other words, your chances at the deferred programs are poor, even with a high GMAT, but good if you apply after a few years of on-the-job growth, a strong final year in college, and yes with a high GMAT. A few A's in post-college classes or perhaps the CFA if relevant to your goals will also help.

In your opinion, would it make sense to blanket apply to top 10 MBA?
Similar situation graduating with a 3.5 GPA and 770 GMAT.
Sam,
Are you asking about deferred admission programs or regular MBA programs? Did you also have 2 Fs and 2Ds because of personal issues, but still managed to end up with a 3.5? Were the poor grades also in your junior year? Or were they earlier?
